Dear People and Friends of the Advocate:

Here's what's happening at the Advocate in the days ahead! New  
Information in RED.

Please see the Advocate Web Site ( www.ouradvocate.org ) for further  
updates and information.

Wednesday, September 19 – Contemplative Prayer – 6-6:45 PM at  
Ephesus Place. Open to all - seasoned contemplatives and those who  
have never tried this way of praying before. Come and dwell with God.

Friday, September 21: The Feast of St. Matthew will be celebrated  
with a Holy Eucharist at Ephesus Place. 12 noon. (note that this day  
is also the actual anniversary date of our launch in 2004).

Sunday, September 23 -- Proper 20 (17th Sunday after Pentecost)

Lessons:Amos 8:4-7, Psalm 113, I Timothy 2:1-7, Luke 16:1-13

	3:30 PM	Gathering for those considering confirmation or reception  
into the Episcopal Church this year. Meet in the West Wing upstairs.

4:15 PM Set-up of worship space at the Kehillah and Rehearsal of  
music for the day.

5:00 PM Holy Eucharist. (The Vicar will Celebrate and offer a  
reflection: Now We Are Four, Why Are We Here?: Where Are We Going?).  
Child Care and Education will be available for 1-5 year-olds during  
the Liturgy of the Word this Sunday.

6:20 PM Advocate Table Fellowship -- An Advocate potluck Feast.  
Dessert will be provided. As you are able, please bring a vegetarian  
main dish or side dish to share and join in celebration, conversation  
and fellowship.

7:15 PM Take-down, put away, and head out into the world in Peace.

Looking Ahead

Holy Days Ahead: The Episcopal Church of the Advocate will celebrate  
the following holy days with a noon Eucharist in the occasional  
chapel at Ephesus Place.    		Saturday, September 29: The Feast of St  
Michael and All Angels

NC PrideFest Day - Festival and Parade - "Pride not Prejudice".  
Support, encourage and enjoy the fellowship of our GLBT brothers and  
sisters. Duke East Campus. Saturday, September 29th. For more

Crime & Punishment: Rethinking the Death Penalty. A seminar at the  
University of North Carolina. November 9-10, 2007 (4:30 p.m., Friday,  
through 1:00 p.m. Saturday). For more information, contact Amy Preble
