[Eenc-board] Panel on Spirituality or Religion

Hey y'all.

I've been mulling over ideas and input on the "spriituality" panel,
including considering the diverse perspectives and approaches to the topic.


We have a basic issue to address.  The intent as Diane outlined in a few
ways and as discussed at the Board meeting is really a review of religions
as they interpret/address the environment.  We are NOT delving into
spirituality, per se, as that is the more esoteric, emotional and personal
aspect of one's religious or other beliefs/outlook.  I would personally
prefer to delve into the more esoteric as Marc suggested in the meeting, but
that was not the general consensus for the direction we would go in.  The
panel is designed to offer an overview of a sampling of religions' views on
the environment, so we can better address these audiences in our
programs/efforts.

With that in mind and seeing the obvious multiple directions the term
"spirituality" takes us and away from the actual intent of the conference
element, I strongly encourage we change the title to "Addressing religious
views in EE" or something along those lines.  I would love to be involved in
addressing spirituality in the future!
