Dear Board members --

I'm looking forward to our meeting on Saturday, and getting ourselves 
(or at least, myself) back in the swing of things for 2008! (many of you 
are already swinging, or never stopped swinging).

Anyway, below are travel directions to the Kathleen Clay Edwards 
Library, in Greensboro.  We will meet from 10:00 - 4:00, with a little 
lunch break.  I'm sure that will not be enough time to do everything we 
need to do -- we could meet for 3 days and still not do everything we 
need to do.  I am working on prioritizing our agenda.  I also hope that 
we will be able to utilize conference calling and internet meeting to 
supplement Saturday's meeting to keep our work going.  More on those 
opportunities coming soon.

If there's an error here, please let me know -- especially for our lunch 
count.
I regret that most of our new folks can't make it.  At the time the date 
was set, most folks were available; in the meantime, various conflicts 
have arisen, but I think it's best if we press on and work one-on-one to 
make the transition with the new members who cannot come on Saturday.  
Jackie, Pat, Randy, Kelly -- I will send you your Board manual next 
week, and I'd like to set up a conference call to catch you up on the 
critical stuff and help you get launched.  I hope the following outgoing 
and incoming pairs will get together separately to go over transition 
information:

For those who are coming,
Please bring:
- your own mug for hot drinks -- I will bring coffee and tea service, 
but no cups, so don't forget!
- calendar
- returning board members, please bring your Board handbook/notebook.  I 
am only photocopying new handbooks for the new members.
- board report -- if you didn't send it to Yazmin for her to assemble 
and copy
- if you are not remaining in your position from last year, please bring 
all your files and *stuff* to hand off to the incoming person for that 
job (unless they won't be there - then wait and do the hand-off one-on-one).

We have lots going on for EENC this year, and I am excited about the 
progress and momentum from last year - so many accomplishments!

If I've forgotten anything critical, please let me know.  Otherwise, see 
most of you on Sat.

Directions:

 From the West:  see attached.
 From the East -- follow same directions as from the West.  Take I-40 to 
the Guilford College Rd. exit and continue as in the instructions.

OR -- (more direct, but not necessarily faster, as you go through more 
of Greensboro):

· Take I-40 to Greensboro - (business I-40; into Greensboro--not the new 
bypass)

· take Lee St. exit (#41) to the right,

· continue on Lee St.  Turn right onto Murrow Blvd. 

· As you travel on Murrow Blvd. which becomes Fisher Ave, note Green 
Hill Cemetery on your right as you turn to the right onto Battleground 
Ave. 

· Pass the cemetery and take the first left onto Benjamin Parkway. 

· Go 2.1 miles. 

· After crossing Wendover Ave., the road splits--stay straight and go 
onto Joseph Bryan Blvd. 

· Continue on Bryan Blvd. 3 miles (to the second exit) and take the New 
Garden Rd. exit toward Guilford College. 

· Turn left onto New Garden Rd. 

· Go 1 mile and make a U-turn at Pinehaven Dr back onto New Garden Rd. 
going in the opposite direction. 

· Turn right onto Jefferson Club Rd. 

· Turn right onto Price Park Drive. 

· Library is at 1420 Price Park Drive.  We will be meeting in the large 
meeting room.
