I personally think lanyards would be a big hit. They are inexpensive and would be worn by most teachers on a daily basis.

I agree with Diane, we should look into LL Bean or other company that can provide apparel with the EENC logo.

My first choice: water bottle of some kind. Shelby did a bunch of
research on this recently. What happened to the stainless steel idea,
rather than aluminum?

I am not a big fan of T-shirts because I tend not to wear them. I also
have a concern about having them in inventory for a long time. I think
they are harder to get rid of in future years. Here's a little
brainstorm: companies like Lands' End or LL Bean have programs where
you pay an initial set-up fee for your logo, and then your members can
have it put on anything from their catalog, for their regular
monogramming fee, which I think is $5. That way, people could order
whatever style shirt they want. I wonder if an outfitter like LL Bean
or REI would sponsor us and waive the set-up fee AND offer a discount of
selected items, like a couple different styles of shirts. I wonder if we
could work it out where folks could place their order, but all orders
would be shipped together to the conference, and then we'd hand them out
when they register. Shelby is away for a while, so we'd need someone to
step up and research this for us. Anyone?

I agree with Kelly, I don't think people will pay $18 for a note pad. I
am actually concerned that any of these items may not sell well. I
think they are great ideas and we should do at least one of them, but
when I'm paying a bunch of money for a conference, I tend to go bare
bones and avoid all these add-ons. I think something we could sell over
time, like the water-bottles, would be a good idea, or something where
there's no minimum order, like the catalog program.
