Alice and Clarke Thacher, in association with the Triangle Folk Music Society, are pleased to present Jamile Laval in a concert at their Durham home.

Esteemed for his intensely passionate performances which run the gamut from wildly jubilant to tender and melancholy, Jamie Laval consistently delights a wide spectrum of audiences with his unmistakably personal expression of traditional Celtic music.

Jamie is the U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion of 2002. He was the soloist for the Emmy Award-nominated theme song to "Everwood," the popular family drama airing every Monday night on national television. Jamie has played solos on movie soundtracks for "Wild America," "Barney's Great Adventure," and "Finding Home," and was featured on the NBC Today Show. Jamie performed for the Queen of England in 1994 when she visited British Columbia. He is also a very active contra dance musician.

Jamie's music making is born out of his Scottish and Irish roots. After his student years at the Victoria Conservatory of Music he traveled extensively, immersing himself in a wide variety of musical styles including classical, jazz, and folk. Jamie now resides in Seattle, Washington and enjoys a vibrant professional music career.
