Dear Friends and Members of the Triangle Folk Music Society,

This is a reminder that you are invited to the Triangle Folk Music Society's
October Concert featuring:

Eric Andersen with special guests Patrick and Cathy Sky.

Grammy-winning Smithsonian Folkways record producer, Jeff Place, will
present some interesting historical background notes while introducing the
performers.

The concert is Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004 at 8 pm.

The Eric Andersen concert will be our first concert at the newly built
Durham Friends Meeting Building at 404 Alexander Avenue in Durham.
Alexander Avenue runs South from Erwin Road. It is one block East of Duke
Gardens (located on Anderson Road).

Eric Andersen is a songwriter and performer of unrivaled quality. This
legendary singer/"song poet" developed his craft at the height of the folk
music scene. His songs have been recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary, Judy
Collins, John Denver, and the Grateful Dead. Over the decades his repertoire
has continued to mature and thrive on the experiences of time and life.

At the Durham venue Eric Andersen will be performing from his latest album,
"The Street Was Always There". He continues his genre-defying creative
evolution, in which the only constants are his motifs of love, lust, and the
loss of innocence, exotic travel and a yearning for home, the constant
motion of trains, rivers and time itself. No singer of pleasant,
conventional folk songs, Andersen is an original, unpredictable and timeless
artist of major stature. On this new album he also revisits the works of
songwriters of the '60's including Bob Dylan and Patrick Sky.

In addition to Patrick accompanying Eric on some songs from his new album,
Patrick and Cathy Sky will enchant us with their own set of a mix of old,
traditional Irish instrumentals played by Patrick on the Uilleann Pipes
accompanied by Cathy on the Fiddle.
