At our standing room only Durham house concert last year, Laura Risk and
Paddy League showed that they can dazzle and delight an audience. It also
showed us that you wanted to hear lots more. We've got great news. We are
bringing them back to a larger venue so that we won't have to turn anyone
away.

California native, Laura Risk began playing Scottish fiddle music as a teenager.
Her musical journey has since led her to the beautiful and diverse repertoires
of Scotland, Cape Breton and, most recently, Quebec. As evidenced in several
highly-praised albums, her playing is extremely expressive and versatile, ranging
from elegant music composed for 18th Century Scottish drawing rooms to driving
strathspeys and reels suitable for a Cape Breton dance floor.
Paddy League plays bodhran, guitar and anglo concertina and is a highly acclaimed
performer of Irish music. Paddy has toured extensively on the Irish festival circuit
and has accumulated an impressive set of recording credits. He has appeared on
records by Susan McKeown, John Whelan, , Mick Moloney, and Connie Dover.

The substantial combined talents of these two performers in the intimate setting
of the Friends Meeting House will make for a brilliant musical evening that no one
should miss. We hope to see you all there.

This concert is presented by the Triangle Folk Music Society. All TFMS events
are non smoking events. TFMS is a non profit organization dedicated to bringing
folk music to the Triangle, more information can be found at http://www.trianglefolk.org
