It is with mixed emotions we are going to sell our historic Durham home
but we are moving so we are listing the house soon. My biggest concern
is that it goes to someone who can appreciate it as my larger fear is
that it will be purchased by developers for the land (the farm house,
barn and outbuildings sit on 12.8 acres) as they have already indicated
interest. We already have 2 subdivisions and an apartment complex that
were just completed this year less than a mile away.
It is known in the Durham County Historic Architecture Inventory as
the 1913 George Clement's Farm.

and in 1994, the house and barn won the Durham Preservation Award.

Please forward this email to anyone you know who might be interested
in saving a historic Durham landmark. I believe this is one of the last
small family farm houses in Durham on a sizable piece of land and I hope
it can be preserved.
From an orientation standpoint, it's about 15 min from downtown, about
a 5 minute walk from the Eno River and Penny's Bend Nature Preserve as
well as several hundred acres that are have been purchased by the
Triangle Land Conservancy for the protection of rare plant species.

 Thanks
