There was an interesting item in ACM TechNews yesterday regarding a new
protocol for optical "just-in-time" switching that was developed at MCNC in
RTP.  The article mentions some grid computing applications, including a
"biogrid" being developed in conjunction with the NC Biotechnology Center.
