IEEE Biotech/Health/Pharma Job Hunt Collaboration


Our next meeting will be February 23, 2004, Topic: "What can an engineer 
do in bioinformatics?". Dr. Simon Lin, Manager of Duke Bioinformatics 
Shared Resource will speak. This will be a joint meeting with IEEE EMBS.

Dr. Simon Lin is the technical manager of the Duke University 
Bioinformatics Shared Resource, which provides bioinformatics and 
computational biology infrastructure for the Duke University and the 
Medical Center. Dr. Lin was graduated from the Peking University School 
of Medicine, specialized in Medical Informatics. His post-graduate 
training at UNC-Chapel Hill was in Biophysics and Computational 
Chemistry. With interdisciplinary collaborations, Dr. Lin focuses his 
research on functional genomics and medical data mining. He co-chaired 
the Critical Assessment of Techniques for Microarray Data Analysis 
(CAMDA) Conference, and edited three volumes of "Methods in Microarray 
Data Analysis" published by Kluwer.
