must have past experience with hardware integration, debuggers,

Director, Hardware Engineering
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic mid- to senior-level
hardware engineering manager to lead the development of our current and
next generation of industry leading reader products. In this role you will
be responsible for managing a team of engineers involved in digital,
RF/analog, and mechanical design. The Hardware Development Manager
functions as the primary liaison to manufacturing for all new product
introductions, provides technical direction for all hardware development,
and plays a key role interfacing with customers, vendors, and other
members of the team.
This position will report to the VP of Engineering.
Responsibilities
· Lead a technical team in the design and development of hardware
products and systems, from inception through pre-production.
· Simultaneously manage multiple projects and provide technical
support on hardware related matters.
· Develop and maintain drawing packages and documentation for
manufacturing, assembly and test.
· Suggest and develop process improvements, new internal
procedures, standards, and associated documentation.
· Recruitment and career development of technical staff within the

Experience and Education
· BSEE (MSEE a plus) with 10+ years experience, of which at least
3 years is in a management/leadership role in a commercial,
product-oriented organization.
· Must have a strong technical background in either digital
hardware design or in RF/analog circuit design.

· Must be well versed in ISO, six-sigma, and/or other Total

other engineers to accomplish departmental objectives.
Responsibilities
· Assume a leadership role in all phases of RF design at the
system and component-level, including amplifiers, filters, VCOs,
synthesizers, power amplifiers, modulators/demodulators, etc. up to 2.4
GHz.
· Assist in the preparation of project schedules, design
documentation, acceptance test plans, etc.
· Make recommendations for product cost reductions and
departmental process improvements.
Experience and Education
· BSEE, MSEE preferred, with 10+ years experience.
· Must have proven development experience in a leadership role in
a commercial, product-driven environment.
· Extensive background in RF circuit design is essential.
Experience with analog baseband circuit design (op-amps, power
distribution, etc) is a major plus.
· System-level analysis including linear/non-linear simulation,
link analysis, noise figure, gain distribution, dynamic range, and cost
vs. performance tradeoffs.
· In-depth knowledge of standards, regulatory, and EMI/EMC issues
with the ability to translate these to system-level specifications.
· Excellent written and presentation skills.
