2005 Summer Workshop Series

Programming with MPI (Message Passing Interface)
June 15th-17th
Instructor, Bill Rankin
MPI is a widely used and highly portable standard library that provides 
programmers with a method of implementing parallel algorithms. This 
workshop will focus on the application of parallel programming and the 
practical use of computing clusters to solve research problems in 
various fields.


Perl Programming
July 20th-22nd
Instructor, Jason Stajich
This course will introduce the basics of Perl programming so that the 
participant will be able to write simple scripts for data analysis and 
mining, including processing comma and tab delimited data, simple 
pattern matching to find motifs in sequence, and generating summary 
statistics about sequence data.


BioPerl Programming
August 3rd-5th
Instructor, Jason Stajich
This course will teach the basics of object-oriented Perl programming, 
using the Bioperl modules, writing your own extensions to the toolkit, 
and creating pipelines for genome analyses.
