The International Interchange of the Clinical Data Interchange Standards
Consortium (CDISC) will take place the *week of 19 September in
**Bethesda**, **MD.*
This year, there will be a focus on Implementation and
Interoperability. The main conference will begin on Tuesday, 20
September, *with keynote presentations from Dr. Janet Woodcock, Acting
Deputy Commissioner for Operations, Food and Drug Administration and Dr.
Kenneth Buetow, Director of the National Cancer Institute’s Center for
BioInformatics.*
Presentations by CDISC leadership and membership, and by representatives
of HL7, NCI and FDA, will focus on 2005 progress, implementation of the
CDISC standards and use cases as well as future strategic direction.
The conference will last two full days, 20-21 September.
On the evening of 20 September, there will be a reception and discussion
forum focusing on standards-based interoperability and where future
industry efforts should focus. The reception will include presentations
and demonstrations by leading vendors and other companies involved
in CDISC-related standards implementations
An Introduction to CDISC course will take place on the afternoon of 19
September for those who are new to CDISC and/or those who wish to ensure
that they have a good background to obtain full value from the
presentations on 20-21 September. Additional CDISC courses (SDTM – 2
days; ODM; LAB; SEND) will take place on 22-23 September.
There are also opportunities for exhibitors and sponsorships for this
conference.
