Dear RTP SAS Listers,
A couple of months ago, Frank Dilorio asked people interested in
starting a CDISC group to join him ahead of the SAS mtg in order to
assess interest. A group of us (Frank Dilorio, Jeff Abolafia, Kathie
Drouin, Terri Pennell, Jack Shostak, Susan Kenny, and me) met last month
to get this up and going...
As Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) matures, local
implementation groups have started up - first in the Bay Area last
spring, in the NY/NJ/Philly area in July, and now in RTP. *The
inaugural RTP meeting will be on Aug 31 at GSK from 2:30-5:00 in Sanders
Building, room 1115*.
A benefit of local CDISC groups is that they meet more frequently (every
2-3 months) than conferences where this content is typically presented.
Local CDISC groups are also more accessible because they're just that -
local. They are designed to include both talks and discussion so that
issues and solutions can be shared across sponsors, CROs, and vendors
who are in attendance.
So if your frustrated, curious, or anxious about what CDISC is doing and
how others are working with Submission Data Tabulation Model (SDTM),
Analysis Data Model (ADaM ), and the like, please join us!
You can find the meeting agenda here:
_http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rtp_cdisc/message/30._ Your RSVP to
_Susan Duke_ <mailto:Susan.P.Duke at gsk.com> is appreciated. Attached is
a map (without a GSK badge, you'll need to use the Alexander Drive
entrance, as there is now an unmanned gate at Ellis Drive).
Directions:
Take Alexander Drive Exit off the Durham Freeway and turn West.
Heading West on Alexander Drive, take the first Right into GSK. After
you pass the security gate, you will drive through the campus until
nearly at the other end (you'll see the security gate straight ahead).
Take a left onto West Loop Road (there is also a sign for the Sanders
Building).
Follow the signs for Visitors parking. This will take you to the second
Right on West Loop Road. The parking lot will then be on your Right and
straight ahead will be the front entrance to the Sanders building.
Enter the building at the front entrance. You will need to pick up your
badge at the security desk, and someone will be there to escort you to
the conference room.
To receive future announcements on local RTP CDISC meetings, click on
'home' from the above link (you'll need to create a Yahoo account to do so).
fyi, our next meeting is getting lined up now for October. Susan Kenny
has offered to organize and host it at SAS Institute. We have one
speaker lined up, and hopefully a special guest from CDISC joining us.
Best Regards,
Susan Duke
