All:
I just wanted to make you all aware of an upcoming HL7/OMG sponsored
workshop on interoperability that I believe is pertinent to the
committee. It is to be held in the DC metro area on October 25-27.
Underpinning the workshop is the effort of the Healthcare Services
Specification Project (HSSP), a project that is sponsored by HL7 EHR TC.
Note that the workshop itself is being jointly hosted by HL7 and the
Object Management Group (a joint partnership that is working on
developing open service interface standards).
HSSP provides briefings the EHR TC every working group meeting, so you
can reference the San Diego minutes for more information or contact me.
The focus of the workshop is to discuss solutions for healthcare
interoperability based on service-oriented architectures. The
conference speakers have been selected based upon their real-world
practical experience. We're doing everything we can to make this
workshop a practical experience and not a "talking head" information
blast.
If you're interested or want more information, check out the conference
website at: http://www.omg.org/news/meetings/HC2005/index.htm or
contact me or one of my cochairs (cc'd on this message).
