I am hosting a VR jam session this week (Thursday night and Friday
all
day). This is very much a "drop in" event. Please attend as you are
able.

David Bullock, the architect of the DiVE will be on-hand throughout the
entire event to answer any questions.

Keep an eye on http://vis.duke.edu/jam_session.html for the most
current schedule.

----------------------

1st Annual Virtual Reality Jam Session

The Duke Immersive Virtual Environment (DiVE) is a new Virtual Reality
facility located in the Fitzpatrick Center, at the heart of Duke's West
Campus. The DiVE offers full control over a user's visual and acoustic
sensory input, interactive response to a user's motion and actions, and
records all events and interactions that occur within the space. For
these reasons, the DiVE is an ideal system for fully immersive
simulation and cognitive studies, and is ideal for verifying 3D
structure when comparing models with experimental data.

This Virtual Reality (VR) jam session is an open forum for VR experts
from around the world to share their applications and knowledge with
each other and the Duke community. The VR jam session will provide
examples on what can be done in a system such as ours, and inspire new
thinking and collaboration on what could be done with this very unique
resource.

  Director, Visualization Technology Group
