The next event in Meredith's Center for Women in Science and Mathematics 
speaker series will be 3:30pm Nov 17, 2005, room 162 in Science & Math 
building.

Dr Nina Allen from NCSU will be speaking.
Dr Allen is Professor of Botany & Director of Cellular and Molecular 
Imaging Facility at NCSU. CMIF houses a number of microscopes including 
a Leica confocal laser scanning microscope.  Dr. Allen has a 
long-standing interest in further improving methods of electronic light 
microscopy. Recently CMIF has been collaborating with professors in 
Engineering and Physics at NCSU to develop biosensors.

There was a symposium held at McKimmon Center at NCSU in Honor of Nina 
Stromgren Allen, PhD on the Occaision of Her 70th Birthday titled 
"Imaging: Integrating Across Disciplines", on Sept 16, 2005.
