Subject: Exploring New Frontiers in German Biomedical Research


Here's a heads up for members of the AMC and BAID Clusters:
RTI is organizing an event titled “Exploring New Frontiers in German 
Biomedical Research.” It will be held at The Solution Center in RTP on 
December 8th and will feature technical presentations in biomedical 
research from leading professors in the northern Germany region of 
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The objective of the event is to showcase 
relevant research from the region's leading universities to lay the 
foundation for research and business collaborations with organizations 
in the Triangle region. Ted Abernathy, Executive Vice President of the 
Research Triangle Regional Partnership, and Antonio Martinez-Arbizu, 
Managing Director of PVA-MV, a German company specializing in 
commercialization of academic research, will deliver plenary addresses.

Research topics to be discussed include:

     * Metabolic and GI Diseases
     * Oncology
     * Neurobiology
     * Cardiovascular Disease (including stent technologies and 
regenerative medicine)
