Shanghai will introduce a electronic health records system from next
month which is expected to transform the health care sector in the
eastern metropolis of China.Supported by the municipal health care
authorities, Ciji Healthcare, the biggest health care chain in the
nation, will keep electronic health records for every citizen who has
passed medical examinations in the institution. Featuring electronic
patient records and electronic health records, e-health will transform
the way health care is delivered by keeping digital patient data and the
latest treatment information, said an official with the institution. The
Shanghai-based health care centre will be functional in December, the
official said.Experts say, e-health will also influence China's
population management and help ease the tension between doctors and
patients.
