========================================================================
In an effort to set the stage for a successful 2006 program series, our
first 2006 NC PMI Pharma Local Interest Group program will be an
introduction to the pharmaceutical industry for those who are new to, or
are interested in working in, the pharmaceutical area.
A program entitled "Working in Pharma" will be presented by Craig Herman
on January 11, 2006 at GlaxoSmithKline and will include a tour of the
facility and laboratory demonstration. This meeting will be held from
5:30 until 7:00 pm, as usual.
Craig S. Herman, PharmD has 13 years of pharmaceutical development
experience consisting of five years in formulation development and eight
years in various project management roles. After gaining 5 years of PM
experience at GSK, in both early and late stage development, he accepted
a position as Director of Project Management for a small biotech
company. There he spearheaded the implementation of PM systems and
created a PM culture within the organization which clarified processes
and provided a streamline structure for management of a pipeline of
products. He also gained exposure to a mid-sized "virtual"
pharmaceutical company prior to returning to GSK as a project manager of
one of their key compounds in development.
Join us for an introductory exposure to drug development and a tour of a
large pharmaceutical company. Please register by January 6, 2006 to
allow us to optimize the logistics for the meeting. For security
purposes, you MUST pre-register for this event.
