the new 350-acre North Carolina Research Campus is underway. The City of
Kannapolis, Ernst & Young, and Southeast BIO, with support from the Cabarrus
Regional Partnership and the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED),
are hosting *an event on Monday, May 15, to educate the Charlotte region on
biotechnology and what it means for Kannapolis*.

*Mike Constantino*, partner at Ernst & Young, Southeast Area Life Science
Practice Leader, will spotlight key findings and trends featured in Ernst &
Young's annual biotechnology report. *Lynn Scott Safrit*, Castle & Cooke,
will provide an update on construction of the Research Campus, and bus tours
will be available for anyone wishing to tour the construction site.

The event will also feature a state and regional panel with *Christy
Shaffer, Ph.D.*, President and CEO, Inspire Pharmaceuticals and others, to
provide participants the opportunity to ask questions about new initiatives
to promote biotechnology and what biotech companies need for success. Please
