CED’s March 19th Biotech Forum will provide practical information on the
drug development process, from the pre-IND stage through to market
approval.
Strategic drug development is the essential link between the initial
scientific innovation and commercial success, thus allowing senior
managers to contain their burn rate and effectively allocate resources.
This allows for the best business development deals, a way to optimally
allocate resources, avoid unnecessary regulatory delays and accelerate
product launches. It enables rapid commercial success and provides the
greatest value for the patients.
The March 19th Biotech Forum will focus on the importance of preparing a
well thought out clinical development plan (CDP) that serves as a
roadmap for the compound’s progression through the development process.
Speakers will also share their experience with developing proactive
regulatory strategies, including providing guidance on how to request
and prepare for meetings with the FDA.
Seasoned leaders from high-profile drug development and research
companies in the RTP area, such as Serenex, GlaxoSmithKline and
Constella Group, will share their insights on designing efficient and
effective drug development programs. Additionally, a former Genentech
marketing executive will share lessons learned from his direct
experience with one of the Industry’s leading biotechnology companies.
*Speakers include:*
* *Richard Kent, M.D.*, President & CEO, Serenex, Inc. (Moderator)
* *Charles Lineberry, Ph.D.*, Chief Scientific Officer, Constella
Group (formerly Lineberry Research Associates)
* *Craig Metz, Ph.D.*, Vice President, U.S. Regulatory Affairs,
GlaxoSmithKline
* *Rick Williams*, Former Genentech Director of Marketing and Heath
Economics
Prior to the panel discussion, early-stage entrepreneurs are invited to
attend an interactive pre-forum session at 4:30 p.m. led by Constella
Group’s Charles Lineberry, Ph.D. This pre-forum session will focus on
the clinical and regulatory strategic planning process required to move
investigational drug products from the pre-clinical stage to IND
submission and clinical Proof-of-Concept.
The March Biotech Forum is sponsored by *Kilpatrick Stockton LLP* and
*Grant Thornton LLP*.
The Networking Reception is sponsored by *Quintiles Transnational*.
