Update on the NC proposal for the National Bio and Agro-Defense
Facility (NBAF) which will be a Bio Safety Level 4 (BSL-4) site.

Background:

NC is one of 5 states still in the running for the NBAF site which
will meet the needs of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of
Agriculture, and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The
most up-to-date status and information about this important NC
opportunity will be given including economic impact, scientific
benefit, and concluding with a Q&A period.

SPEAKERS:

Dr. Warwick Arden, BVSc, DVCS, MS, PhD, Diplomat, ACVS, has been Dean
of the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine since August 2004. Dean
Arden is leading the Scientific team for the North Carolina submission
to be the site for this facility. This is important because of the
long term impact it will have on the NC business/scientific
Communities.

Department of Population Medicine and Pathobiology College of
Veterinary Medicine, NCSU. He took a leave of absence from 2003-2005

disaster training, tools, and products. He is the Content Expert for
the NC proposal.

The BAID Industry Cluster Members will have an opportunity to network
and re-establish connections at this BAID Cluster meeting.
