IEEE Section Meeting Thursday 15 May 2008, 6.00pm for 6.30pm meeting,
MCNC Building 1

We are fortunate to be able to draw on a panel of local experts in
engineering
employment. They have planned a presentation and discussion forum for us.
Please come along to participate. Invited guests are welcome.

EMPLOYMENT IN THE TRIANGLE - A Panel Discussion
With constant national news discussions on the pending recession, local
engineering professionals are interested in how the economy is impacting the
local hiring climate. A panel of local experts will look at human
resources and
employment dynamics locally in the Triangle exploring what 2008 and 2009
hiring
should look like for local engineering companies. Come explore what
skill sets
are in hot demand, how to market yourself effectively as a candidate,
and how
to insure that you are not affected by the recession. Panelists will
include HR
Manager Mark Francher from Qualcomm, Technical Manager Lorraine Lotti
from Sony
Ericsson, and Director of Engineering Mike Running from Plexus. The
panel will
be moderated by Electronics Account Manager Emily Vlkojan from Aerotek.

Details and directions are posted on the website calendar:
