Dear Members,

We are excited to announce the following presentations for our Winter
Symposium to be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 12:00 - 6:30 PM at the 
NC Biotechnology Center.  The topic for this series is "The Future of 
Toxicity Testing: How Can in Vitro Testing Speed Evaluation of 
Environmental Chemicals and New Drug Candidates?"

The speakers and titles are:

Michael Devito, Ph.D. (US EPA) Introductory Comments

Melvin Andersen, Ph.D., (Hamner Institutes of Health Sciences)
"Toxicity Testing in the 21st Century - Discussing Key Aspects of the 
2007 NAS Report."

Ronald White, Ph.D. ((Bristol Myers Squib)
"Perspectives Regarding Early Drug Safety Assessment."

David J. Dix, Ph.D. (US EPA)
"Integrating Metabolism and Toxicokinetics into ToxCast Predictions of 
Environmental Chemical Toxicity."

Christopher Austin, M.D. (National Center for Chemical Genomics)
"Characterizing Toxicity Using High Throughput Screening."

James McKim, Ph.D., DABT (CeeTox, Inc.)
In Vitro Toxicity Applied to Drug Discovery."

Discussion Panel: Gerald Miwa, Ph.D. and Speakers

Reservations must be received by Tuesday, February 24th; cancellations
will not be accepted thereafter.  Once reservations are confirmed by a
return email, payment is expected unless a cancellation email is
received by the RTP-DMDG on Tuesday, February 24th.

As usual, please make checks payable to the "RTP DMDG" either in advance
(preferred) or at the meeting ($60 for members and $25 for students).
(We cannot accept credit card payment).

Poster presentations are encouraged, with free registration for the
presenter.  A limited number of posters will be accepted.  Awards will
be given.  Please see the attached document for eligibility
