*About this Event*
The biosciences are a significant part of North Carolina’s economy. With
more than 520 bioscience companies, contract research organizations and
service and life science-related companies, it is the third largest
biotechnology sector in the nation, according to the North Carolina
Department of Commerce. In addition, the state's biomanufacturing industry
is growing steadily at more than 10 percent per year.

The BioSciences Management Initiative at North Carolina State University
College of Management was established to provide an educational and
experiential platform for acquiring the skill sets necessary for effective
management of the biosciences industries. The BioSciences Management
concentration in the college’s Jenkins MBA program provides scientists and
others with technology backgrounds the knowledge and skills needed for
leadership in these dynamic industries. The annual BioSciences Forum
provides these students and members of the business community the
opportunity to meet and hear first-hand what leaders are dealing with in
their industries.
