GENERAL INTEREST
* No Holiday for Job-Hunters
It's high holiday season in many parts of the world. But finding a
job isn't likely to happen. Or is it? According to a recent Wall
Street Journal article, recruiters say that many companies are very
aggressive about hiring this time of year. "While the holiday season
was once fairly relaxed, few companies can afford to be idle in
today's fast-paced business environment." Read on at

* New England Job Market Cools, But Computer and Software Developers Are Hot
New England is expected to see slow job growth over the next two
years, lagging the rest of the nation, and it is not expected to
recover until late 2006, according to a recent article in the Wall
Street Journal. Citing a forecast from the New England Economic
Partnership, the story also noted that the region is likely to
experience "a shortage of skilled workers in industries with some of
the most favorable long-term growth prospects, such as computer
system design, software development and Internet and related systems
development and services." Read on at
