General Interest
* Technical Jobs Go Unfilled
http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=361548
While there is much hand wringing over job shifts from the United
States to other regions of the world, there are still jobs going
unfilled inside the U.S. An official at Keyspan, the Brooklyn, New
York-based power utility, told a roundtable of New York State
industry, government, and education leaders that unless dramatic
steps are taken to interest students in engineering and technical
careers, there will be 10,000 unfilled jobs in the nation's power
generation industry.
