"9th Annual Cary Kwanzaa Celebration" 

North Carolina will once again be delighted to celebrate this
African-American traditional holiday with the 9th Annual Cary Kwanzaa
Celebration, this years Theme: Strengthening Our Youth: 21st Century
Leadership", on Saturday, December 27, 2003, at the Herb Young Community
Center formerly the Cary Community Center in Cary, North Carolina, presented
by The Ujima Group, Inc. and the Town of Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural
Resources 

The Ujima Group, Inc. has coordinated a host of cultural, leadership, risk
prevention, and arts initiatives with an emphasis on cultural diversity in
the Wake County area. TUG has seen astounding progress made as a result of
originating the 1st Cary Kwanzaa and established it as one of North
Carolina's most significant annual, culturally diverse affairs with regional
appeal. 

Previous participants of the Cary Kwanzaa presented by The Ujima Group,
Inc., are Dr. Maulana Karenga (originator of Kwanzaa), Bill McNeal (Wake
County Superintendent), Chuck Davis (African American Dances Ensemble,
Journalist Tony Brown, and a host of noted authors, business leaders and
those in the entertainment field.

This year's celebration features Keynote Speaker 

Dr. Na'im Akbar, "One of the world's preeminent psychologists and pioneer in
the development of an African-centered approach to modern psychology",
states Essence Magazine. He is also Professor at the Department of
Psychology Florida State University. 

During the event there will be vendors for your shopping pleasure, areas
featuring ethnic foods for your taste buds, a children's area, musical and
dance entertainment, and so much more to do and see!


Everyone is invited to be part of this historic event on December 27, 2003
from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for the Cary Kwanzaa Celebration is free to
