Next Monday, January 15th will be a State and National holiday. This year, for a number of reasons, the Raleigh King Committee hopes to enlarge the Annual Martin Luther King Memorial March, one reason being that for the first time in history, the 26th Annual King Memorial March will proceed down the newly opened Fayetteville Street through downtown Raleigh. You can help by putting out a call and encouraging your membership and associates to join us for the memorial march.
When: Monday, January 15, 2007
Time: Assembly Starts at 10:00 AM March Departs at 11:00 AM
Where: Assembly at the State Capitol Building
(Edenton Street Side)
We will have plenty of MLK posters for all marchers. But, we also would be honored if you could make arrangements to have a banner or posters with your organizational name, but, the main thing is to help motivate your people to participate. Please spread the word and please consider sending this appeal to others whom you think might be interested. Please let us know if you have questions or suggestions. Below, please find the full schedule of events for MLK Holiday 2007.
Thanks much,
Bruce Lightner
