To RTPnet-list and RTPnet-TACT list:

Of the 40 Americorps*VISTAs for the CTC VISTA project, RTPnet will have
three.

Membership fees covered the cost of starting these projects. I think it
shows the value of these projects that the fees for this year will be paid
by the organizations the VISTAs work with -- Duke University, Riley Hill
Community Technology Center, and the Birchwood Heights Homeowners
Association.

I've updated http://www.rtpnet.org/rtpnet/vista.shtml to reflect the
current status.

Chad Custer (VISTA #7) <ccuster at gac.edu>. Scheduled to started August
25-27, 2003. Sponsored by ISIS: Information Science + Information Studies,
Duke University.
The goal of Chad's project is to work with Duke University, Rogers Herr
Middle School, and RTPnet to continue and expand the after-school computer
training program for 6th graders (CLICK).

Ella Holden (VISTA #5) <HoldenI at aol.com>. Started April 2002. Extended
through April 2004. Jointly sponsored by the Riley Hill Community
Technology Center and RTPnet.
The goal of Ella's project is to develop a computer repair course for the
Riley Hill Community Technology Center and teach the course.

Martha Ann Moore (VISTA #1) <margentamarty at yahoo.com>. Started February
2001. Extended through February 2004. Sponsored by the Birchwood Heights
Homeowners Association and RTPnet.
The goal of Martha's project is to promote community participation in the
Birchwood Learning Center (BLC) in Durham, by developing, implementing,
and publicizing computer education programs for the community that bring
members of the community into the Center to learn and to help each other
learn.

Folks, we're pleased to let you know that all VISTA
applicants submitted by us have been approved.
Melissa Daigle will be following up with a note to
them all, as per the email address on their
applications, but you can certainly confirm with
them as well.
