Hi Martha,
>From past experience, I've found that in extreme cases of "lack of
cash" syndrome, a direct appeal to the public gives surprising results.
Take out an advert in a local paper (village advocate or News and
Observer) asking the public to help your non profit and get a tax
deduction.

You will be surprised how many people are aching to get rid of good
stuff but would really rather donate it. You may actually have to turn
some away, in which case you can appeal to the rest of the NPO's on this
listserve to take the surplus off your hands........just a suggestion.

Hi everyone. I am a VISTA volunteer at Birchwood
Learning Center in Durham. We have just gotten a
donation of ten new wireless PCs at my center but we
are in need of lab furniture to set them up on.
If anyone knows where we can get a donation or very
inexpensive lab furniture could you please let me
know. We will be needing to set up in within the next
month.
Thank you for any assistance that you can give.
