To TACT list:

Douglas Dumont has completed his year of service as an Americorps*VISTA.

We've extended an offer to Chad Custer to continue the Duke/Rogers
Herr/RTPnet VISTA project, and he has accepted. He should be sworn in and
start work August 25-27.

I've updated the VISTA Web page at
http://www.rtpnet.org/rtpnet/vista.shtml to include this information. I
also added:

Douglas described CLICK at the RTPnet conference May 30, 2003, in Chapel
Hill, and at the CTCNet Conference June 27, in Washington,
DC, as part of the session CTCs & Local Schools. Douglas also
participated in the conference Share Fair, showing how to download
CLICK's free lesson plans and teaching modules, as well as tips and
hints, for an after school program to teach basic computer skills to 6th
  graders.

The CLICK curriculum, which includes PC Basics, Word Processing,
Spreadsheets, and Databases, is interactive and fun. It could also be
used to teach adults basic skills. See
http://www.duke.edu/web/isis/click/module/

Chad will be moving to Durham from St. Peter, MN. He graduated from
Gustavus Adolphus College in June. He will continue the CLICK program at
Rogers Herr and also expand it to a community technology center,
such as the West End Community Center or the Lakewood Center in Durham.
Chad's workplan is at http://www.rtpnet.org/tact/jobinfo/vista7.html
