These messages from Harry and Phil make me wonder if we could find local
young people to record the next RTPnet conference. -- Judy

Subject: [CTC] flash multimedia from CTCNet conference
Hi Phil and like minded folks...
I really enjoyed listening/watching Jemeul's comments, and it
reminded me of the power of such tools...and what a small CTC
located in the village of Lumby, BC Canada did to push the
envelope..
Two years ago, when Imove first starting filtering out, a
Learning Communities conference was held in the community of
Vernon BC Canada. This forum brought together folks from all
over BC and Yukon and other parts of Canada..
We had the crazy notion, (that we picked up from somewhere else!)
of creating a "Digital Tapestry" of the 4 day conference...
One of our govt funders sponsored a contract to put a "Digital
Tapestry" team together to take digital audio and video during
each day of the conference, put an Imovie together in real itme,
and show it at each day's conference closing.
The 12 students, coordinator, Imovie guru all met for the first
time at 6 pm the day before the conference, planned things out,
learned the technology, and began rolling at 7 am the next day...
It was amazing! We proved a powerful concept could work! I'd be
happy provide any who request with more details, etc.
Our Imovie master then took the finished products and put them on
a web site, in a format that took into account the range of
connection speeds available to folks in our neck of the woods
Have a look at http://www.sd22.bc.ca/alexispark/springbcyk.html
to see what a group of rural youth put together with the help of
some awesome adult mentors!
