I checked hotel rooms a couple of weeks ago. Here's what I've found.

Please be sure to confirm information when you make reservations.

$72 but be sure to say you are going to a conference at the Friday Center
(their Web site says $92). For State employees, $57.25, but be sure to say you are a State
employee when you make your reservation.
One-half mile drive to the Friday Center.
Has two good restaurants within walking distance.

6119 Farrington Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517
Regular rate is $89. Say you are attending a conference at the Friday
Center and they should give you the $72 rate.
About one and a half miles from the Friday Center.
Hampton Inn Chapel Hill, 919-968-3000.
http://www.hamptoninn.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=CPHEGHX
1740 Hwy 15-501 Chapel Hill, North Carolina 27514
Regular rate $69. AAA or Senior Citizen is 10% off.
Not as close to the Friday Center as others.
It's a little hard to find. It's near the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel,
on a service road, between Hong Kong Buffet and Crown Honda Volvo.
