Florence,
I suggest that you contact one of the universities to see if they can help.
Also contact some of the local banks. They may have some computers with the
enough memory and will be able to donate them. Also, there is a school in
Greensboro - Brookstone College, that trains TA. They may be willing to let
their students volunteer for the experience.

Subject: [rtpnet-tact] The RPTnet conference
After attending the conference on 03/19/04, I came home to Greensboro really
enthusiastic about creating technology center pockets all over the city and
have since partnered with the church who is providing the space for our
Summer Enrichment Program (Freedom Schools) to create the first community
based technology center in the city, (I think.) Definitely the first one in
the low-income areas. Anyway, we are preparing a proposal now. The church
has 7 computers with Windows 98 Operating Systems in them. The computers
don't have enough memory and right now we have very limited funds and can't
afford to purchase any. Anybody have any ideas or info on free memory
upgrades? Also any information, TA any of you out there can offer us as we
do this would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
