Dear RTPnet members,
I'm excited to announce that we just introduced 3 new classes at our
learning center in downtown Raleigh that will give Triangle residents
between 24 and 36 hours of hands-on computer training with one of our GCFR
instructors. Since many of you work with Triangle residents who are looking
for a way to learn beginning computer skills, I thought that this news may
be of interest to you. And since so many kids are away at camp right now,
this is the perfect window of opportunity for parents to get involved.
Please take a few minutes to read the following media release announcing
these new classes:

raleigh, N.C. - It's hot. All the kids are at camp. Now is your chance to
cool off, do something new and learn the computer skills you need to utilize
today's technology. Windows, Internet-surfing, email, and Microsoft Word and
Excel are just a few topics that you'll learn in these free classes with GCF
Global LearningR. In fact, beginning this week, you can be one of the first
participants to enroll in the new beginning computer series, which includes
Introduction to Computers, Internet & Email and Office Applications. All
classes will give you between 24 and 36 hours of hands-on experience in the
classroom with a GCFR instructor.
Never used the computer before? Don't worry; this is the perfect opportunity
for you. When you enroll in your first Introduction to Computers class, your
GCFR instructor will introduce you to all the different parts and functions
of the computer, skills to use the mouse and best typing practices - all in
a classroom with 12 or less learners. To get started, simply attend a new
learner orientation at the GCF Global LearningR Center, held in English
every Monday at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and in Spanish every Saturday and
Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
