Thanks for the post, and I did respond to the State Librarian asking for more specifics on what PCs and printers she could really use.
Also contacted the new T4T coordinator, John Gilbert who says that Triangle United Way is meeting to decide how to best allocate resources here and in the affected areas, in particular should the Triangle UW hold some extra build sessions for displaced people arriving locally, or concentrate on requests such as this one posted ?
And for those of us who might have the extra resources, how to get it quickly to the State Library ? Are they better off with cash to go buy from Dell or Gateway or whomever who has the resources to deliver quantities ready to setup, and even offer to have them setup (and supported) locally ?
Sometimes torn between wanting to go and send something to the affected people showing up on the news nightly, and increasing donations to the Red Cross and our church who are supporting efforts with the cash immediately, right where it's needed.
Comments on any effective, rapid technology assistance for Katrina survivors that readers here have come across ?
Cheers de Mark
