Greetings!
Our next Hardware Party will be held on Saturday, Nov 18 from
9:00 - 3:00, with sessions from 9-12:00 and 12:30-3 at the
Purple Elephant shop. Pizza and refreshments will be provided at noon.
You are cordially invited to attend at least one of these sessions
and help us rework some PCs. The majority of our PCs are currently
going to at risk kids, students identified through communities
in schools, social workers, and other case workers and dependents of
deployed National Guard service members. To date we have provided
over 200 PC's to NC National Guard dependents, and have a target
of over 300.
We have a variety of activities associated with our rework:
1. Clean and test various hardware (e.g., mouse, keyboard, video),
2. Erase and reformat hard drives,
3. Recover parts to be recycled from unusable systems,
4. Refurbish donated PC's and install Windows 2000.
If you are planning to attend, please reply to this e-mail to RSVP.
If you can not attend but still wish to help, please consider a tax
deductible donation via the Paypal link on our website.
Our address is 6808 Davis Circle, off Glenwood Ave and Millbrook
Rd., North Raleigh. This is the old Goodwill Building next to Pep Boys.
