I am hoping to do some microfilming projects this fall and exploring the
details to make it happen. We used to have several reels filmed each year
until about five years ago. We were using Southeastern Microfilm in
Raleigh at that time. Since then the company has been sold and apparently
the new structure has the microfilming out of Charlotte. Has anyone used
them since this move? Are there other vendors out there are well? I'm
researching to find out the best place for filming archival quality
microfilm. Anyone with any recommendations (or horror stories)?
Obviously, I want to locate vendor that has experience and expertise
filming archival manuscripts. I would like more than just the vendors word
that they know how to handle and care for our specialized materials. I
need to have some 18th and 19th century record books filmed and well as
some twentieth century documents.
