SNCA:
"The Language of Archives"
Thursday, *November 18*, 2004
4:30 p.m., Gardner Hall room 07
Key terms representing fundamental concepts in archives are some of the
most complicated and confusing. What is a record, a document? What is the
relationship between reliability, authenticity, and integrity? Should
archives be spelled with an 's'? Who can call themselves an archivist?
Richard Pearce-Moses, Vice President and President-Elect of the Society
of American Archivists, will reflect on some of the nuances of archival
terminology and the significance of conflicting senses. Free and open to
the public.
