[snca-list] archives handbook for student/pt workers

Hello! I am often provided with extra help in my archives from the
library's part-time and student workers. While I appreciate the extra
hands, I have found out the hard way that things that seem common sense
to me ("Don't rip an item apart to scan just because the binding doesn't
allow it to lay flat on the scanner" etc.) are not so obvious to other
folks.
Does anyone have a "things to know about the archives" document already
done that you'd be willing to share? I can come up with a lot of the
basics myself (make sure your hands are clean, don't have food or drinks
around sensitive materials, etc.) but I'd rather not reinvent the
wheel.
Thanks in advance for any information you might be able to provide.
If you reply off list, please let me know if it's okay for me to share
your information in a summary for the list. (Provided, of course, that
I get some responses!)
