Hi Volunteers for the American Tobacco Trail,

This is a reminder of the American Tobacco Trail workday this Saturday,
August 20. We'll be meeting at the Scott King Road Trailhead
<http://www.triangletrails.org/DIRECTIONS.HTM> at 9 AM.

*Saturday, August 20 at 9 AM* is our southern Durham County ATT Workday
at Scott King Road <http://www.triangletrails.org/DIRECTIONS.HTM>.

Bill Bussey, Curt Devereux and perhaps others will spread gravel in some
ruts and shallow holes south, and perhaps north of Scott King Road.
We'll also be doing some trimming in the area around the trailhead as
well as along the trail itself. Feel free to bring a hand saw, loppers
or the like if you have them.

We'll have some shovels, rakes and other tools that will be needed.
However, with the larger than normal number of volunteers from Bronto
Software <http://bronto.com/>, (Thank You!) we'll probably need more
round or pointed blade shovels if you have them.

With this size group, we may split up, with Curt Devereux
<mailto:devereux at gte.net>, leading another group to do some trimming
with string trimmers and loppers. Other TRTC members may be able to lead
work in other areas as well.

Bring work gloves, full shoes or boots, clothing appropriate for the
weather, water and a snack if you like. I strongly suggest wearing long
pants because we may get into some brush. But that is up to you.

We can also use a pickup or fairly high clearance vehicle, to either
haul or simply roll over the applied gravel. If you have one and don't
mind driving it down the trail, please bring it.

We'll probably work till about noon or so. If it is raining badly or all
over the area, or the forecast is for such, we'll cancel this workday.
Feel free to call Bill Bussey at 919 545-9104, as late as 8 a.m., to
verify a go or no go. However, if you aren't comfortable with the
forecast, use your best judgment and join us or not as you prefer.

Please let Curt Devereux <mailto:devereux at gte.net>919 544-3948 Frank
Bennett <mailto:FJB675 at hotmail.com> 919-851-3992 or Bill Bussey
<mailto:billbus at gte.net> 919 545-9104 know if you have any questions.
