Happy New Year Volunteers for the American Tobacco Trail,
This is to remind you of our American Tobacco Trail workday tomorrow,
*Saturday, January 7*, on the American Tobacco Trail at the Fayetteville
Road Trailhead <http://www.triangletrails.org/DIRECTIONS.HTM> at 9 a.m.
Please join us, Saturday, January 7 at 9 a.m. at the Fayetteville Road
trailhead <http://www.triangletrails.org/DIRECTIONS.HTM> in Durham
County. We'll be clearing and moving brush around this trailhead which
is currently under construction by TRTC. We may start initial
construction of a gate or barrier at the access trail near the ATT.
If things work out with delivery, we may be working on a larger
construction project, which would mean working on it instead of the
items mentioned above. We'll know later. But in any event, plan on
clearing and hauling type of work.
If you have a hand saw and/or chainsaw, and feel comfortable using them,
please bring them along. Loppers are also needed. However, we mainly
need folks to drag brush around.
We also could use a wheelbarrow or garden cart, if you have a means to
haul it. And please bring a post hole digger if you have one. We may
need one or two.
If you live in Cary, and have a truck or trailer, please call or email
me my contact info below. We have a large item that we need to move from
Cary to the parking area.
Bring work gloves, full shoes or boots, clothing appropriate for the
weather, water and a snack if you like.* *
We'll probably work till about noon or so. If it is raining badly or all
over the area, or the forecast is for such, we'll cancel this workday.
Feel free to call Bill Bussey at 919 545-9104, as late as 8 a.m., to
verify a go or no go. However, if you aren't comfortable with the
forecast, use your best judgment and join us or not as you prefer.
Please let Frank Bennett <mailto:FJB675 at hotmail.com> 919-851-3992 or
Bill Bussey <mailto:billbus at gte.net> 919 545-9104 know if you have any
questions.
