How did Health Festival Go?

Hi Moria,
I'll copy this to the rest of the Board and to the volunteer list
because you make some good points.
Yep, we *do *get a lot of questions on the Chatham bridges. Thanks to
the efforts of our weekly volunteer workdays, LOTS of trail users see
the undecked trestles on both the Durham and Wake sides. If it weren't
for the great work of our volunteers, very few trail users would even
know about the gaps caused by these undecked trestles because they
couldn't easily get there to see them.
Thanks to you all for your great work on the Chatham and Durham
sections. This proves that what you are doing is very valuable and a
service to the community.
Those Cary Greenway maps are literally hot off the press. We were
fortunate to get them for this event. I'm pretty sure that lots more
will be available at Spring Daze and other upcoming events in Cary, as
well as at the Parks and Rec. office.
Raleigh does or used to have a similar map. It may be out of print. I've
got one somewhere in my pile of maps. I think this is the link to the
online version
<http://www.ncdot.org/_includes/download/external.html?pdf=http%3A//dotw-xfer01.dot.state.nc.us/gisdot/DOTBikeMaps/_Raleigh/raleigh.pdf>.
Dave C. may know more about it.
It wasn't as large a scale as Cary's. Of course, Raleigh is bigger!
Raleigh is working on a new Bicycle Plan that is being done by Greenways
Inc. My guess is that a map of similar sort will come out of that effort.
Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks also for these insightful comments. And thanks for the great work
this weekend.
Happy Trails,
Bill B.
