That Fancy Cafe' in Edenton, NC
Save the Date

NCPCA is happy to announce our first cooperative meal fundraiser on Saturday March 17, 2012 in the historic port city of Edenton on the North Carolina coast. RPCV from India, Gail Singh , chief, owner, and manager of the That Fancy Cafe' and native Edentonian has invited all NCPCA members to a meal, which she will prepare and serve at her restaurant. Gail is donating proceeds to NCPCA for our Peace Corps Partnership Projects.

Plan a weekend in Edenton or simply carpool with other RPCVs and friends to visit this NC colonial capital for the day and enjoy a culinary treat. Email Gail at ghsaroor@yahoo.com for further conversations regarding links to Edenton and her restaurant.

African Dinner fuindraiser at the Palace Restaurant in Durham, NC raised over $750 for our Peace Corps Partnership activities. 

Thanks to owner Caren Ochola for donating the food and the restaurant location for this event!


A visit to the triangle by
Peace Corps Director, Aaron Williams
Feb 17 and Raleigh on Feb 18, 2010

Mr. Williams is the 18th Director of the Peace Corps and the 2nd African American to serve in this capacity. He has a personal tie to the Triangle area, having worked at RTI as the Vice President of International Business Development.
Director Williams visited three triangle schools, UNC-Chapel Hill, DUke University and North Carolina State University meeting with returned volunteers, prospective volunteers and university recruiters.
During the visit to UNC-Chapel Hill, Director WIlliams presented the NCPCA’s President, Myron Fountain with the prestigious Presidents Award. Former NCPCA President, Margaret Riley received the award 2 years ago.
